Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast and the Firehouse offers a full array of genres: from folksy to fiery – from classical to cutting edge. The intimacy of the theatre and the excellent acoustics make our concerts extra special. Many of our favorite musicians return again and again because of the unique connection they feel with our audiences.
And if the theatre isn't intimate enough for you, check out our "home concert" series. True to our community mission, we host local organizations and individuals who present events for festivals, fundraising or private celebrations. Local musicians and musical groups often perform on our stage, and a couple have even recorded CD's in our space. In fact, everyone gets into the act each year at our annual sold-out holiday sing-along.
The Institution for Savings in Newburyport has been a supporter of the Firehouse Center For The Arts since its inception in 1991. We are proud to dedicate our Music Series to the Institution for Savings. This series will bring nationally recognized and local artists to our stage.
