The Holaday Project is Joe Holaday and sons. That is, Joe Holaday on bass and guitar (also a member of the bands Beatlejuice and The Fools); Jared Holaday on saxophones, keyboards; and P.J. Holaday playing drums and percussion.
The “Project” began over ten years ago when Dad Joe Holaday and sons, Jared and P.J., began making music in the cellar of their Parsons St. home. “ We’d jam a lot” says Joe a professional bass-player since he graduated high school in 1975. “ I wanted my sons to find music on their own, if that’s what they wanted, and man I’m psyched they did.”
The Band plays Jazz, Funk, Fusion, Soul, Latin, Be-Bop, Blues, Motown, and good old Rock and Roll. Culling from a myriad of influences, these fearless musical omnivores will explore any and all musical genres in search of their own self-expression and for the delight of their Audiences.
“We like finding the hipness in unlikely places, video-game themes, Japanese anime music. We love converting classic rock standards into instrumental jazz heads. It works! Of course the "Project" does their own versions of some jazz and fusion classics from Brubeck to the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report. Both excited and honored to perform at the Firehouse, Joe and his sons have teamed up with Steve Baker (keyboards) and Dave Mitchell (guitar) for this upcoming show. Both are from the band Beatlejuice. Join them on Friday, Nov 4 at 8pm when the local boys take to the Arakelian Stage at the Firehouse and fill the hall with their own brand of music magic.
Be prepared to be entertained. Be prepared to have fun. Be prepared for the unexpected. Most of all, be prepared to buy your tickets early -- this is sure to be a sell-out!
This event is presented by the Firehouse as part of the 10-for-20 Music Series and is sponsored in part by the Institution for Savings.
