Charles Schultz's iconic characters come to life on stage in Blown Away, an original play written and directed by Stacey April Fix. Featuring an all-child cast, Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and the whole gang share in this fast-paced show of vignettes that charm the audience with dance, song, and laughs. A wonderfully endearing slice of Americana, the Peanuts comic strip delights us with precocious children interacting in a world where adults are never seen.
Adventures of friendship, love and loss unfold when: Linus's blanket is made into a kite and blows away, Lucy analyses her unrequited love for Schroeder, and the uncelebrated-hero Charlie Brown plods his way through trials and tribulations with his best friend Snoopy by his side. Blown Away is an original script inspired by the actual Peanuts comic strips which appeared in over 2,600 newspapers from 1950- 2000, and helped to establish the 4-panel gag-strip that is unique to American comics. This production has all the magic, costumes and theatrical elements to keep today's young audience engaged and adults feeling sentimental and completely entertained.
Stacey April Fix has a long history of staging popular productions at the Firehouse. Camp Pirate, Good Fortunes, Into the Act and Storyville Detectives are just a few of her earlier shows that wowed audiences with her creative costuming and set design. Blown Away is sure to be another hit!
