The performance will include new choreography by Joppa directors: Fontaine Dubus, Cheryl Fisher, and Jen Steeves, plus three pieces the company performed at Lincoln Center in New York this January. Joppa’s signature style is contemporary, but the show will also include a ballet piece by Pam Smith and modern by Erin Staffiere.
Additionally, student choreography covers a range of styles. About half of the dances in the performance are created by the dancers.
Joppa Dance Company is made up of three sections: Joppa Junior, grades 4-6; Joppa 2, grades 7-8; Joppa T2, grades 9-10; Joppa Teen, grades 11-12.
