About the Artist:
John Ellis grew up and still lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts as a local artist. He constantly challenges himself through diversifying his work, including wall murals, and fine art oil paintings. He now enjoys heavy body acrylics in loose knife technique.
Ellis draws his inspiration from constantly changing movement of water, serenity of the local beaches, as well as the addition of bright colors from traveling and diving in places as Australia, California and the Florida Keys.
His work can be found at various coastal town galleries, shows and charities, and also by appointment at his new home studio and gallery in Salisbury, Massachusetts.
“My new colorful acrylic works are loose, fun and abstract in knife technique, including various coastal subjects from realistic to abstract. All my paintings are mounted in my own designed, hand-built frames in white and slightly weathered to mimic the effects of the ocean environment for that “beach” look.”
